Look Ma! No Glasses!

Well this may be the most boring blog ever. I can't imagine what I'm even going to say. I don't have anything to even whine about (so Whiny Wednesday will have to wait for another week, Katl) I can't see too well but I'm trying to get used to these contacts. I really like them other than the fact that I have to wear reading glasses with them! I do like having the choice to not wear glasses if I want to. I think it makes me look different, though. That's something to get used to!

  1. Dang, you really look good. Well you always look good. Just try not to squint too much so the contacts get the chance to work with your eyes. Are they tinted or regular contacts?

    Very nice indeed. Huggers 8=)

  2. They're regular, not colored. Squinting isn't really my problem, blinking is. They get comfortable and I don't want to blink and mess them up. Then I don't blink so they're not comfortable!

  5. You look great! But, you also looked great with glasses!

I get to go in February to see if I need glasses. If it will help me see better, I am all for it.

  6. They're soft. I had gas perm for years and it got to where they hurt my eyes so bad I quit wearing them. These are some new kind of soft that fixes astigmatism. So far they're comfortable for the 4 hours a day I've worn them.

  9. Wow Janeen, you do look LOADS different! Is 4 hours a day going to be the maximum you can wear them? Or is it just a case of building up slowly? And don't you feel that your nose suddenly looks longer?! Hahahaha! I know I did, when I first wore contacts. Nothing to break it up in the middle! :D

  10. If those soft lenses would just stay put in my eyes..I could wear em. They are soo much more comfy than gas perms.

  11. 4 hours for now because I don't want to wear them full time. I wouldn't wear them much right now but the Dr. said to wear them at least 4 hours to get my eyes used to them. The plan is just to wear them every now and then when the glasses would be uncomfortable- on a boat, in the pool, at the gym, etc.

  12. Have you tried them? These are weighted to keep the bottom of the lens at the bottom of my eye. Apparently that is the part that fixes the astigmatism!

  14. I have the same kind of lenses, Janeen, and I've done the RGP kinds, too. I bet you'll get used to them in time. I don't know that I've ever seen a pic of you, but you are so pretty! Awesome smile, and that twinkle in your eye, I can hear you saying "Better get them all cut." haha.

  15. Contacts are a choice. I am a guy that likes glasses. In fact "glasses frame the beauty of a ladies eyes!" You look great. I have thought about contacts also, but fear I am too lazy. My 54 year old younger brother just went to contacts and loves them. Keep us informed about what you think.

  17. You look fabulous with or without glasses Jan. Myself I prefer glasses because I can't stand sticking my finger anywhere near my eyes...lol I freak out when the optomologist does that puff thingy during my eye exams.

  19. You and Savannah look like sisters now. I can remember a time when people would say to me and Rachel (and the girls) "are you all sisters?" Now of course they wonder if I'm the grandma. HAHA. You look great Janeen!

  20. My sister Kim has contacts, and I always know because she has the contact stare...like she keeps her eyes all big all the time. She doesn't know she does it...but she does. It has to feel weird.
