The Great Ornament Exchange

Ok folks, all the participants have sent me their particulars and we're ready to go! The rules are simple- there are no rules! Ornaments can be storebought or handmade, used or new, expensive or cheap. Here's a link for some ideas, compliments of Sea!  Really, the only rule is to send an ornament to everyone on the list. Simple, huh? Some people gave me a few preferences, but most are open to just seeing what they're going to get. So, without further ado, here you go!

This blog is only open to the people listed here, and I think it goes without saying that we all agree to not pass on addresses. And, if anything is wrong above, please correct it in the comments. I hope I copied everything right!

Ok, have fun! I can't wait to send my first ones and am looking forward to seeing what all comes here, too!

  2. Yay! No problem- can you tell I'm excited?

  3. pssst...Janet....I'm gonna send you a 3' wiccan ornament...HAHAHA.

  4. I am too Janeen...I wish Dai had participated.

    ReplyDelete
  5. So if there is no preference, just get them anything right?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Up to you Bill- I think that is the fun part... what are we going to get.... and will they like what we send?

    ReplyDelete
  7. We could send him one anyway. He'd probably get it about March!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Maybe we should... I'll put together something for him, too. Kumar and the girls- did you include anyone else last time?

  9. Great! Now I just need to get motivated and finish painting them. I think the hardest part for me is going to be figuring out inexpensive containers to mail in that will keep the ornaments from getting crushed.

  10. Oh this is fun! festive! I can use small too as far as an ornament goes!

  11. All Im gonna do is go to the ups store and get those little boxes to ship em in. Not only will they arrive safe, but there is a storage box for packing it away after the holidays...see, always thinking outside the box here, or is that inside the box??????

    ReplyDelete
  12. Good idea, I'll have to see if there's an ups store near me. Do you ship them by ups too or just use their boxes? That probably seems like a dumb question but I've never shipped anything by ups or fed-ex, only by the good ol' US postal service.
Hm, thinking inside or outside of the box? Not sure which that would be. lol

  13. I think I am going to just stick each of them in a dirty sock and stuff it into a wal-mart sack and send it to y'all. Who needs ups, fedex, abf, any of them guys. With snail mail, y'all should get them by Easter at least.

I am joking in case y'all are wondering. LOL

  14. The UPS store here also ships via snail mail...so I probably will use that.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'd check it out good Sue- our local UPS store is way more expensive than the USPS. Especially if they pack it for you. Sometimes the priority mail boxes at the post office are free.

  16. Thanks Janeen, I'll check at the post office first. I could take an ornament over there and ask them about it. Better to find out now instead of waiting until the last minute (like I usually do lol).

    ReplyDelete
  17. Could you use your wife's socks instead? I could use some extra socks. lol

    ReplyDelete
  18. Thanks, I'll check on your idea and Janeen's and go with the cheapest one,

    ReplyDelete
  19. I will try to sneak some of her socks out. Wait, you would just be getting one sock. How much good with that do you?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Guess you'll have to save the other one for next year's ornament exchange. lol

    ReplyDelete
  21. I guess if I could sneak out a complete pair of socks for you. And double wrap your ornament for you.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hahaha You do know I was just kidding? Don't want you to end up in the proverbial doghouse. lol

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am a husband, don't you know that is where most of us stay most of the time. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hahahaha Yeah, you do have a point there. lol

    ReplyDelete
  25. I might be a man, but, that don't mean I am dumb. LOL

  30. Solved the question of how to mail mine, I bought some flatter ornaments made out of metal that I can paint on and they'll fit nicely in padded mailing envelopes. Probably won't be mailing early but you'll all get them by Christmas (hopefully lol).

  31. You sound like me, Sue... I don't know when you'll get one from me, but you'll get one!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I am kind of looking around Valentine's Day. Is that okay with all?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hahaha Guess I'll hold off on painting yours until last. Maybe I should paint an Easter Bunny on yours and hope it gets to you by Easter. lol

    ReplyDelete
  34. Works for me.

I will ask the wife and get her to do some painting on them or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. You don't have to paint or decorate them, that's just a matter of personal preference.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ok I sent out yalls Ornaments today! I sure hope everyones happy with what I got you. Tried to get some ok good looking things. This has been fun! If you think its a bit early wait a tad and then open! The pkgs will say from Janet McDonald Houston TX. Enjoy and Happy Seasons Greetings!!

  39. Crap, I've had a backache all weekend and haven't walked down to my mailbox since Thursday. I'm late mailing out. I have the ornaments but they're very plain looking because I planned on painting on them. I'll keep eating aspirins and keep ice on my back so I can get them finished. I've already bought the padded envelopes to mail them in.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Awww I hope youll be feeling better!
    a hug for you here!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sue, get you to feeling better first. I think I speak for everyone when I say we don't care if you're late- we just want you to feel better!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thanks Janet, and I am some now. The ice pack I've been putting on my lower back has really helped. I caught up on doing my laundry yesterday and burned some CDs that I'm giving as Christmas gifts, and then I sat and organized the acrylic paints, sealers etc that I'm using to decorate the ornaments.
Thanks for the hug, hugs back at cha!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thanks Janeen! My lower back is feeling better and I'm getting caught up on stuff so I should get the ornaments painted and mailed out on time. I'm not painting on the round ones I was going to use, I bought flatter ones that are easier to paint on and seal, and easier to mail because I can use cushioned mailing envelopes. The ornaments themselves are metal so hopefully the postal service won't figure out a way to break them. lol

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh RATZ! I should have checked back sooner, but I am on it now! I didn't hear anything from anyone, so I figured it might be "off". I will get it together, and sorry. Thanks Janet, I got yours last night when I got home! ZXXZZX

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh Great! Im posting all of them together when I get all of mine! :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I do believe I have recieved ornaments from everyone. At least there hasnt been anything new show up in the mail.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Okay folks, I finally got the ornaments put on my smallest tree today. I know, I'm a little late decorating but I just wasn't up to it before what with my back hurting, being in a bah humbug mood, etc...lol I've posted photos of them in an album on my site if you'd like to see. Happy New Year! xoxoxoxz
