15 Books

Ok, so if it is a survey or about books I'm usually interested. This is a survey about books, so I had to do it! List 15 books you've read that will always stick with you. They should be the first 15 you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.

1. Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
2. The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer
3. Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
4. Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
5. Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
6. Angels by Billy Graham
7. John Adams by David McCullough
8. Tara Road by Maeve Binchy
9. anything by Karen Kingsbury
10. Dinner with a Perfect Stranger by David Gregory
11. 90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper
12. Bless Your Heart, Tramp by Celia Rivenbark (this one's for Abby!)
13. The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (thanks to Abby!)
14. The Mitford Series by Jan Karon
15. Marley and Me by John Grogan
and of course, the Bible, which is the best book of all!

I have read so many good books through the years that I could keep going, but these are ones I'd read again and again. What's on your list?

  1. gosh i've not read a single one of these. I tend to read Sci-Fi stuff more than anything else. Actual "classic" literature though.... closest is Johnathan Livingstone Seagull.

  2. Aw, thanks Janeen. Wasn't that a great vampire story? It's certainly one of the most original ones that I've ever read. I wonder if Elizabeth Kostova will ever expand on her story? She left it with a bit of an open-ended ending.

  3. I know- I want to read it again now that it has been a year or two. And I saw the Bless Your Heart book on the shelf and immediately thought of you! LOL!

  4. And you'd like Atlas Shrugged. All about what happens to America as it becomes a communist nation. Scary to think it was written 60 years ago- it is almost prophetic!

  5. lol! That's just too funny. I'll have to find that one.

I've just not been much in the mood to read, to be honest. There are a few books that I'd like to get, mostly on the history of Manga dolls... and the dolls, themselves, in general. Oh, and a couple of books on how to customize them, tips and tricks.

  6. Well I'll send you the next doll book I see! LOL!

  7. lol!

Oh, we went shopping today. Guess what I ended up getting? *sigh*

1/12 scale doll clothes. And the repaint is done. Just waiting for Art to finish up. Poor headless thing. Her body won't be here 'til next week.

  8. Oh, and did I tell you that Art said if the body and head don't have any problems with my girl, that it's not a problem to order the male 27cm body? lol! And then... Well, I have two other Bratz dolls but I might leave them alone and get a 25cm with head and glass eyes. Isn't THAT going to be fun? lol!

  10. Janeen, he spoils me rotten. I think he just likes to see what I'll do next, to be honest. That and he likes to laugh and let my imagination run wild. I really can't wait until I get the body and head together because I really do have some different ideas for a photo shoot. *giggles* Art says it's really super surrealist but I think, *think*, that what I want to do will turn out okay.

  14. I have read numbers 3, 5, 6, and 7. l enjoyed John Adams a lot. It was reading pleasure. David McCullough is an excellent writer. I tried #2 and was totally bored within a few pages and stopped after 20 pages. I just don't get it.
