  2. Very odd. They've crammed so many iconic moments together that I'm totally lost. I'm pretty sure that much of the rest of the world probably is too.

  3. the commentary has been helpful, but they need to move it along, since they have already edited it all!

  4. Since I've been working on some photos, I've let the kids watch whatever they wanted. Guess I've missed all the confusion, then?

  5. Im bored. The English may enjoy all their history but Im pretty sure the rest of the world really doesnt care. And without the commentary Id be lost and with it Im bored lol. And whats with the pushing of the national health care....geez. I know people who live there that dont think its so hot. And that big creepy guy from Harry Potter books? Really? And that big baby? Something isnt right with all this.

  6. I did watch it. It was amazing. And about the history and NHS thing ... well, it's the same as every other country who hosts the Games does ... showing off what they're most proud of. The USA did that, Beijing did that ... and the world just watched and enjoyed the show.

  7. That's true Riete but maybe after Beijing they're all going to fall short. I just didn't get it. I don't think it was the content so much (although the big baby was just strange) but the was it was so disjointed. Hen I was excited about the London Philharmonic but Mr Bean was over the top. I do know the Brits love their humor though. Overall I was disappointed because I expected so much.

  8. I actually thought it really up to parr with Beijing. I mean, we're not Chinese here in Europe so we do not have the same "drill mentality" as they have. I liked this one better.
The NHS was linked to the musicals of the West End. From the rural history of Britain (linked to Shakespeare) to the modern way of cultural life in London nowadays. I thought it quite cleverly done.
Mr Bean was priceless. I laughed so hard! It's "our" kind of humor, I guess ;)

  9. Neither Doug nor myself have any interest to watch. I'm surprised how many people ARE watching it. We even had a friend invite us over to watch it together!
