We're in the winner's bracket! Lost the pool game but won both bracket games- play again in the morning! (And Arkie, I only yelled at one ump- and he deserved it!)
Who made THREE really bad calls- two against my own daughter! Called her out at first when the first baseman dropped the ball; called interference on her running between second and third when she stopped to let the fielder field the ball (he said she distracted her visually- but she still made the play!) and called a girl safe at first when our first baseman dropped the ball but then picked it up and touched first. Grrrr....
Yup. Grrrrrrrr! At least softball for Savannah seems to be a lot better ump wise than with football for our boys at some of the games last year. *sigh*
Visual interference is allowed. As long as she didn't get hit with the ball in fair territory off the bat, or run outside the baseline then it was a "good" play.
Wait a sec..the ump threatened to make more bad calls? I despise imps with that kind of attitude. They take the fun out of the game and often ruin the game for the players.
Yep, his comment was (after our coach said "that's two bad calls- get your head in the game ump!") was "If you keep counting, you won't like the third bad call.
You yelled at an ump? lol!

ReplyDeleteCongrats to Savannah and her team! =D
Sounds like your umpires need to read the rule book. If there isn't any physical contact made then it should be a good play.
ReplyDeleteYou would think, Bill. He said that she "visually" interfered. Whatever that means!

ReplyDeleteNow you know why I was yelling at the umpire!
ReplyDeleteI hate bad umpires. They make bad calls and think theyhave to justify them.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on working back to the winners bracket.
Ummm.. COOL! lol
ReplyDeleteSounds like yalls coach needs to man up for his/her team. IF the coach isn't willing to stand up for the team, not much of a coach.
ReplyDeleteHe almost got thrown out- the ump even threatened to make more bad calls if he didn't hush. Coach went to the ump commissioner with a complaint.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame him for complaining.

ReplyDeleteThat's ok- we beat the other team and him! Co- champs of the tourney (it ended up raining too hard to finish.)
ReplyDeleteFunny how sometimes you win in spite of the officiating. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteSomehow, I missed this comment. Shame on you for yelling at the poor umpire.
