Entry for June 16, 2007

Well we made it! There for a minute I thought this trip was never going to end. We got to the airport in Charlotte a little early. Security was smooth and we were soon in the air. We arrived in Chicago at 11am local time. Since our plane was scheduled to leave at 2:30, we found some food and prepared to wait.

Little did we know that was our first test- patience! That 2:30 flight finally left the ground at 4:00. But we met a nice couple from Lincoln NE just returning from Ansterdam and Barcelona. They had neat stories to tell and the time passed somewhat faster. We did arrive in Rapid City, SD with all our luggage (another blessing) and got to our hotel just in time to eat dinner with the group. Savannah and I decided not to go to Crazy Horse with the group but stay at the hotel and get settled. We swam in the pool to get the travel kinks out and met a group of youth from Colorado Springs who just left the Pine Ridge Reservation on a mission trip. They were from a Methodist church. So now I'm tired and it is time to sack out! It is also storming so I bet the Crazy Horse group is going to get wet!
