Christmas 2011

This is my niece, Savannah and Brandon before we started opening presents. It is about 11am- looks like they just got up, huh?

I know, I've been mia again. It has been an interesting, but altogether nice, Christmas. Started on Friday night when Savannah and I went to the Men's Shelter in downtown Charlotte to prepare and serve dinner with 6 others from my Sunday School class. Saturday found me kicking the eldest out of the house for stealing and lying; then taking a nap and going to my mom's for Christmas with the extended family. Sunday was relaxed and easy- opening presents, easy dinner of ham and baked potatoes. And I've been off for the past two days so I have a lot of things put away already. Not the outside lights though. Was going to do that today but it rained. So I guess they'll stay out until at least the weekend! Have some presents to mail tomorrow, but they're boxed and ready!

  2. Welcome back Jan. It was a real pleasure looking at all your Christmas pictures. Your mum looks nice. That's where you get it from. I couldn't really understand who you kicked out. I'm guessing it was someone from the Men's Shelter ? We were missing you in Multiply and I had the chance at Christmas to spend a lot of time online, reading and commenting. Will you go to mum's on New Year's Eve or stay at home ? Take care Jan and talk to you later

  8. Thanks Bill. They're two of my favorite people. My niece actually spends two nights a week with me. She's "mommyless" and has to come over and get pampered. Plus, I take her to church with me.

  9. Long story, but basically I found something in his truck that we've been looking for for months. And it is broken. Confronted him about it, he denied taking it, then later admitted breaking it, but took no blame in the whole thing and he ended up cursing and throwing things and calling us all vile names... so I told him to get out.

  10. I realized today that I haven't even been on the computer since Friday! Maybe a touch on my phone but not the laptop. I kicked the oldest son out of the house- see the comment above.

  14. I love surprising them when they have no idea. She had no idea! I told her we didn't have an upgrade and I wasn't buying her a $700 phone! We used mom's upgrade and it was only $200!

  31. Sadly, all the single women I know I wouldn't introduce to anyone that I actually like as my friend or their relations. :/

  34. It has turned out well. He keeps asking when he can come home. I have told him it will be at least 6 months before we even talk about it. I know it sounds a little overboard, but this is the straw that broke it all... other things like this have been going on for awhile. I finally said "no more second chances." It doesn't hurt that Savannah says "moooooom, you're not thinking of letting him come back, are you? No!"
