Susan, Cherokee is an Indian reservation about 3 hours from here. We didn't do a Bible school, but we did some building projects, grass mowing, and went to a nursing home. The kids also had time to play in the creek and hike to the waterfall. Plus, we got some Native culture and history!
And I'd love to meet for coffee! That's Denver NC (North Carolina) which is near Charlotte, not Colorado. But if you're coming close this way let me know!
Looking at these photos and at all of the children involved in your group, I can't help that you have the perfect opportunity to keep these kids involved in serving your community right now, while they are still are basking in the glow. That's exciting!
Oh yeah- we kick off children's ministry on September 12. Children's worship, week night study, and once a month visit to the nursing home. We do a backpack ministry the kids help with and after this, I think we could do yard work, too!
GREAT photo of the two of you!
